March coastal maintenance

Coastal living is amazing, but salt air, humidity, and seasonal storms can speed up wear on a home. A simple March maintenance routine helps prevent expensive repairs and keeps your home looking “move-in ready” year-round—important for both comfort and resale.

This month, focus on airflow and moisture control. Change HVAC filters, check bathroom fans, and inspect around windows/doors for failing caulk. Clear gutters and ensure downspouts are directing water away from the foundation. If you have a crawlspace, keep an eye on moisture and ventilation.

Outside, look for early signs of coastal wear: rusting hardware, peeling paint on trim, loose shingles, and soft spots on decks/steps. A quick pressure wash and reseal (where needed) can extend the life of exterior surfaces and preserve curb appeal.
